Grandma Suzie always turned to the magic plant whenever we faced any troubles. She would sit by the table, place her palm around the plant and mutter something- her eyes tightly shut.
It has magic in it roots- any troubles, bad days, illness, it has a solution to everything. As a child, I earnestly believed everything Granny said.I thought the plant will take away all things bad. And miraculously , it did seem to happen.
Until one day, mischievous Johny knocked down the plant. I was inconsolable.
Granny hugged me and whispered something in my ears, the thing that I remembered for life “Nothing lasts forever Sasha, neither happiness nor sadness. The magic is within you. To take life as it comes. Bask in the glory of sunny days and face the stormy ones with hope that the sun will shine one day”
