I waded into the water, one step at a time. It was so different this time.
Every other time , doing this made me happy. I loved the cool water as it touched my skin and took me to a different world. As a kid I enjoyed splashing water on my sisters as we played.
But today, I intended to step deeper into the water. So deep, that I would never come back, atleast not on my own legs. What an irony- the place that made me feel at home was going to become my home forever.
I gathered that last ounce of courage and walked faster. I wanted it to be quick. I heard a distant laughter or was I imagining things. A little boy playing in the water with his sisters. Ending it would be the easiest thing to do. But what about my precious ones I left behind? How would they cope with this?
I stood rooted to the spot figuring out the answer.
