With Mom and Dad #FridayFictioneers #FlashFiction

Harry stood at the deck, the moon illuminated the sky- it was a picture perfect sight. His Mama and Dad stood beside him- one perfect, happy family. He froze this thought in a corner of his heart, alas it was but a wish. Constant fights, followed by separation- it was a broken home.

As he took the ferry ride today, clutching his son Jon’s hand, his wife Sara holding Jon’s other hand, a part of him scoffed- “you have compromised too much with Sara”- the heart spoke- “But look at little Jon’s smiling face, that is priceless”

He had no second thoughts about his decision.

    1. Thanks Keerthi- I firmly believe once we become parents we need to think of the happiness of our kids to a large extent and some compromise if needed, should be made. This is debatable though, but from a child’s POV a happy family goes a long way in building happy memories

    1. It’s always a tricky one- while I think a child needs to be happy and sometimes that happiness is in living with one parent, we as parents need to bear in mind that we may need to make some compromises in creating a conducive atmosphere for a child – by living together unless things are really awry . Thx for stopping by

  1. I’m so glad Harry made compromises – I’m sure Sara also made compromises. And they’ll both reap the benefits throughout life, not just in Jon’s happiness, but by becoming closer to each other. Ultimately Harry will be a happy man for having chosen as he did.
    Nicely written!
