The half filled jar of blue lemonade stood by the window. I took a sip and closed my eyes. When was the last time I had felt so calm? Feels like ages ago. A mum never rests, does she?
When the kids were born, I thought I will get some rest once they grow older but it was a myth. They grew older, now I had to face new challenges as a mum. Thought it will get better once they settle down but I had a new role now as a grand mum.
Today is my birthday and the first time ever that I am alone without my family. A big debate ensued about celebrations as it was the 60th birthday- a big milestone.
Thats when my youngest one said ” Lets give Ma the gift of solitude, let her spend her day as per her wish, at her leisure”.
Bless him I say to myself as I finish my drink and head to the beach for my scuba diving classes.
