Bura na mano Holi Hai #TellTaleThursday

Swara took a deep breath as she stepped out of her apartment, adjusting her shades and dupatta.

She was looking forward to enjoying the festival with her friends, though a dark thought lingered in her mind which made her restless.

A group of girls came running out, throwing colours and water balloons, she hugged them as they wished each other “Happy Holi” and put colours on each other. Someone started the music and they all started dancing. They were soon joined by more people and the atmosphere was buzzing with fun and frolic.

All of a sudden, there were a few bikes which approached them and some unknown boys coloured from head to toe jumped down and started dancing. They started putting colour on everyone around and hugging them wishing “Happy Holi”. People were uncomfortable, but there was too much of a crowd and commotion to protest.

They came for Swara, she was ready this time. As soon as a boy tried to grope her from behind, she used the stun ring on her finger which sent shockwaves through the body of the attacker. He was stunned for a second, she used that time to slap him on the face with colours as she screamed with all her might “Bura na mano Holi hai”( Don’t mind, its Holi).

With tear filled eyes, and a smile on her face, she moved on to the next guy. This Holi was surely turning out to be the best so far.

  1. Damn! I just learned about Holi for this #TellTaleThursday. It looks like a fun, beautiful celebration, but all the stories are about murder and abuse. I’m going to stick with Easter. That’s all about bunnies, colorful eggs, chocolate, and jelly beans.
