Excited to explore a new city, I set out with my backpack. Thats when I saw them, a sea of people forming a queue, which seemed like a never ending one. They braved the rains, the chill around.
Is this the famous annual sale of a high flying brand?
I tapped the shoulder of a man . He turned around and smiled “This is for admissions to kindergarten, its the most prestigious school in our canton, once our kids get in here, they are sure to have a bright future.”
I looked at the scrawly 3 year old beside whose eyes were glued to the i-pad. Indeed a bright future!

Dear Aks,
One has to wonder with iPads and iPhones how these little ones’ bright future will play out. Well done.

Seems the education systems around the world work in similar ways. Good story.

It pains me no end when I see small kids glued to the screens. Such a waste of precious energy. They could be doodling or reading or just watching the world go by instead.
And school admissions, well, let’s not even get there! 😉
Wonderful take on the prompts, Aks.

It all depends. Is she playing Candy Crush or reading Shakespeare? Screens are like the Force. They have a light side and a dark side. They could be used for education or mindless, mind-numbing entertainment or worse babysitting.
I see where you’re going with this, and it’s well done. We all spend far too much time glued to screens. I’m just playing Devil’s Advocate.
