Rows and Rows of slippers, different designs, colours, texture as they adorned the makeshift rack she had built. Every morning she spent a few minutes with them- just she and the shoes. Her face gleamed as she touched each one of them lovingly, caressing them and blowing a kiss.
“Why on earth do you need so many slippers?” they all asked perplexed and she just shrugged “One can never have too many”.
She added 2 new pairs today and the sparkle in her eyes was unmistakable.
It had been a bit tricky this time, with the security cameras and guards who were extra vigilant. But, harder the job, more the thrill. She could always walk into the store and pay for the shoes just like everyone else but wasn’t that so drab and boring? There was no adrenalin rush, no quickening of pulse, racing of the mind as it thought of creative ways to shoplift.

Far more exciting than paying for them! Nice one Akshata

Oh! the thrill of stealing sandals and the feeling when we remember the face of the person who has to walk barefoot home, is indescribable.

Whoa! That’s one hell of a risky adventure. But then again, we can NEVER have enough shoes. I totally agree!
