We sat, side by side as the waves splashed around, the sun shining brightly. The most comforting feeling in the world is sitting beside someone and enjoying the solitude- the silence between us was so comforting. When had I last felt so much at home, not having to put up a face that people wanted to see?
Suzy and I met as toddlers, we became best of friends but life took us on different paths. She wrote letters and I replied back but over time my replies were shorter and one fine day I stopped writing. I had other things in life to look forward to. Her letters about her simple country life were not appealing to a city boy like me.
I realised one day, how foolish I was. My true happiness lay in simple things, among people who loved me for who I am. On an impulse I wrote to her, inviting her for a vacation, just the 2 of us. I wasn’t expecting a reply but she wrote back.
My heart leaped like a child. So here we are- not a couple, not family but 2 souls who are bound to each other in ways which cannot be explained in words.
Linking up with Sunday Photo Fiction hosted by Susan. Thanks Susan Spaulding for the awesome pic.
I am taking my blog to the next level with #MyFriendAlexa.
Some relationships can’t be defined with a name tag. This one’s one of them. May they find their inner bliss together.

what a nice story. But do such relationships really exist?

It’s difficult to say. I do know I have a school friend whom I can relate to more than anyone else but it’s difficult to stay in touch.
