Mani looked at the figurines he had arranged last night for Golu- something was very odd.
The cricket team he had proudly displayed to celebrate the cricket fervour stood at their usual spot, their hands raised in victory.
He had added Lord Ganesha to the assemble last night, he was placed at a prominent position right beside the cricket team. But today, Ganesh was proudly sitting on the shoulders of one of the lads, while the others cheered on.
When did this happen? He was sure this wasn’t how it was arranged last night? Was it true that the dolls came to life each night like his grandma had told him years ago?
Beads of perspiration started to appear on his forehead, as he rushed out of the house not wanting to be alone with the Golu dolls.
Meena Didi the housemaid looked at him and wondered ” oh he seems to be in a hurry, maybe not the best time to tell him. I hope he likes my innovative idea of making Ganesha the team captain ”

Would have been interesting if Meena had decided just to have a bit of fun at Mani’s expense.

Ha ha ha ha ha. That was such a fun story. And being a North Indian, I had absolutely no idea about Golu dolls.
